The Mental Perspective Project is a photography project featuring black men and women giving their perspective on mental health. A creative movement to bring awareness and break the social stigma of mental health in the black community.
Mental health is a topic that is not discussed, especially in the black community. It’s almost as if it doesn’t really exist because it all takes place in the mind and is completely mental. In most cases, it’s a battle that doesn't show itself physically, so it’s not seen as something people have to deal with on a daily basis.
TMP Project is a safe space where black men and women can discuss mental health without judgment, without shame, and with total vulnerability.
